THAT DUMB HAMMER GAME

PRIVACY, BUT MAKE IT ABOUT NAILS.

Effective September 7, 2026. Operated by Zachary Kaplan / The Workshop.

Optional workshop support

Checkout is currently in test mode: no real charges are accepted. Stripe hosts the payment form. The game stores payment identifiers, amounts, confirmation times, and refund or dispute status to calculate campaign progress; it does not store card details. Checkout requests are rate-limited using short-lived, hashed network identifiers. Please use only Stripe test details during testing. See Stripe’s privacy policy.

What the game stores

The game creates a random player identifier in your browser and stores your chosen workshop name, high score, lifetime style XP, unlocked skins, equipped look, and essential gameplay records. This information keeps the leaderboard and progression working. The separate optional event log described below requires analytics consent.

Google Analytics

With your analytics consent, Google Analytics and our first-party event log measure page views and game activity. Optional analytics is disabled until consent is received. If Google's consent message is unavailable, our own explicit choice can permit analytics, but ads remain disabled until Google's regional privacy checks are available. Google Signals and advertising-personalization signals are disabled. Refusing analytics does not prevent you from playing. Essential progression and leaderboard requests still operate. Google explains how it uses information from sites and apps that use its services.

Advertising

We use Google AdSense and Google's certified consent-management platform. Google is reviewing the site; ad availability depends on approval, consent and advertiser demand. Auto ads and automatic optimization are disabled. A labeled display ad may appear below the game after advertising-storage consent; we request non-personalized ads, with no rewarded or mid-game interstitial ads. Non-personalized ads can still use cookies or identifiers for frequency limits, reporting and fraud prevention. Google and its partners may receive technical information such as your IP address, browser and page URL. Google explains how it uses cookies in advertising.

Your choices

Use “Privacy & cookie choices” at the bottom of any page to revisit the consent message and change or withdraw consent. Optional analytics and new ad requests stop when their consent is withdrawn. Browser controls and content blockers can also block requests. Clearing this site's browser storage resets locally saved progression; it does not automatically erase server records. For access, deletion or privacy questions, contact zacharykaplantheworkshop@gmail.com. Do not include payment-card details.

For developer testing on this browser, open the game with ?testing=1 to exclude optional analytics and ad requests. Use ?testing=0 to return to normal consent-based operation. This does not exclude essential gameplay service requests.

Retention and changes

Optional first-party event logs become eligible for deletion after 90 days and are removed in bounded maintenance batches as new events arrive. Rate-limit counters use short-lived hashed network identifiers and become eligible for cleanup after one hour; no raw IP address is stored in those counters. Leaderboard, progression and payment records are separate and retained while needed to operate and secure the service. Outside the European consent framework, the optional-data choice is remembered on this browser for up to six months. Global Privacy Control disables optional analytics and new ad requests. This notice may change as the project adds services; the effective date above will be updated when that happens.
